The Marshfield High School Team, first place winners of the 2012 NOSB Finals Competition, went snorkeling in Hawaii this week as part of their award trip.
(From the Hawaii Civil Beat) – Alan Hong’s ID badge may say “volunteer” now, but the man who managed Hanauma Bay for 21 years hasn’t lost his touch. A year after retiring in June 2011, Hong is still leading snorkeling tours and staying involved in preserving the marine conservation district. On Monday, he took a small group of National Ocean Science Bowl winners from Wisconsin out for an educational experience. The group of Marshfield High School students and adult advisers included Jack Gellerman, Rahal Pathak, Michael Josephson, Paul Herder, Danny Herder and Staci Lewis.
