2011 Video Contest Winners
Congratulations to Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology for submitting the national winning video for the 3rd annual NOSB “Living on the Ocean Planet” video contest.
The level of creativity and quality of work continues to amaze us each year, making the selection difficult for our distinguished panels of NMEA regional judging team and our national judges. Videos were judge based upon 10 criteria, which included use of original footage, organization and style, creativity and quality of videography. Each video also could only be 2-minutes in length, be about the 2011 NOSB theme, Human Responses to Ocean Events, and address one ocean literacy principal. We hope you take a moment to enjoy all of these exception videos.
The national first place winning video will be posted on the Ocean Today Kiosk for three months. Ocean Today is a is a 32″ highly dynamic and visitor-friendly interactive kiosk exhibit that is shown at 24 kiosk locations across the U.S. and Mexico. The national winners also will be receiving an all expanse paid trip to Galveston, TX to showcase their video at the 2011 NOSB Finals, where they will hear Dr. Sylvia Earle speak, and each team member and the coach will also receive a flip video camera.
In additional, the national winning video and each of the regional winners’ videos will be played at the Gray’s Reef Film Festival in fall 2011!
Thank you to all the teams and students that submitted videos to this year’s contest. And congratulations again to all the regional and national winners!!
