Groton, Conn. – Teams of students from four local schools spent Saturday battling other schools from across the state and Rhode Island on marine sciences knowledge in the 12th annual Quahog Bowl.
WASHINGTON – Lincoln-Sudbury High School returns home to Massachusetts after winning the 11th Annual National Ocean Sciences Bowl (NOSB®) held at Seward High School in Seward, Alaska last weekend. Twenty-five high schools from all over the United States competed in the NOSB Final Competition with prizes and scholarships on the line. The 11th Annual National Ocean Sciences Bowl (NOSB®) is being held April 25-27th at Seward High School in Seward, Alaska. High School students from all over the United States will compete in the NOSB Final Competition with prizes and scholarships on the line.
A team of five Lower Dauphin High School students finished in fifth place at the recent Penguin Bowl held on Feb. 23 at the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium.
The Penguin Bowl, held at the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium, is one of 25 such regional competitions across the country this month and next leading up to the National Ocean Sciences Bowl.
The Lynn Classical College Bowl Team specializes in the obscure, studying the most specific and random academic facts in the hopes of gaining an edge when the competition gets tough.
On Saturday, 75 students from 12 high schools from Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana and Florida tested their oceanic knowledge at Hurricane Bowl 2008.
